On January 30th, Central High School’s Varsity Basketball teams played at Storey Gym, against South High School. South hosted the games and countless people from both schools including, students, families, teachers, and even East High School fans came to spend their Friday night watching the games. The night was busy with people getting food and drinks before the games started, as news people, photographers, and videographers set up.
The crowd started getting loud as the girls’ games began. South led during the 1st quatre with a score of 13 to 11. That lead would not last as Central started to catch up scoring 9 more points in second half leading into halftime with Central leading 20-19. In the 2nd half, Central increased the lead scoring 13 more points, while South only scored 7 more points. During the 4th quarter. Central pulled in another 11 points while South scored only 5 more points. Central took home a big win with the final score of 48 to 27. The Central girls started the night off with a big win setting the stage for the boys to follow.
The Central boys started the game off with earning 23 points in the first quarter as South only scored 3. As second quarter came to a close Central pulled ahead 39-13. The lead increased during the 3rd quarter as Central lead 58-25. As tension increased, South was only able to score 11 more points leaving their final score of 36, while Central scored an additional 23 points leaving them with 81.
